Kachina has far too much amazing music just to sit back and let the success and adoration of the press, professionals and public just sink in… No, they are back in rare form with the Festival EP.
After being all over radio playlists and the blogosphere at the end of 2015 and the start of 16 with their last 4 EP’s, they return with regular collaborator, Afua along with new addition to the gang, vocalist Amazee.
Kicking off the EP as they mean to carry on, the Amazee assisted ‘One Love’ sweeps across your speakers like honey. Smooth, sweet, soulful & deep vocals with a classic house feel.
Next up, Amazee once again treats us to beautiful vocal on ‘Festival’. This one still maintains that deep sound, but comes with a more Notting Hill Carnival tinged flavour with the vibes deeply rooted in West London street party.
‘Chase’, the third track on the EP features Afua and sounds like it would fit very comfortably in a classic CJ Mackintosh set from the 90’s, but has Kachina’s trademark top notch modern production.
To round the EP off, the proceedings slow down and little and take a more classic acid house direction with ‘A Place Called Home’. This time Dee Ellington ably takes on the vocal duties with a heart felt performance to finish off the notably achieved ode to the 90’s.
There is no stopping Kachina and their group of talented friends. More music, more styles, more class, more quality.
